Sarah Jessica Parker Shoes: Blames 'Cheap' Heels Like Aldo for Bad Feet

Sarah Jessica Parker has received criticism after suggesting that "cheap shoes" are to blame for the poor condition of her feet.

The problem with Parker's claims stem from the fact that her definition of "cheap" appears off base with what many other people think. Parker played the character of Carrie Bradshaw for over six years in the television series "Sex and the City." The actress also starred in two "Sex and the City" films. During those year, the actress wore a slew of name brand shoes that her character had an obsession with.

"For ten or so years, I literally ran in heels. I worked 18-hour days and never took them off. I wore beautiful shoes, some better made than others, and never complained," the actress told Net-A-Porter.

But it was not until she began work on the film, "I Don't Know How She Does It," that Parker exclaimed she nearly couldn't do it.

"I did 'I Don't Know How She Does It' and I was very thoughtful about my whole wardrobe and said you know [my character] could not afford really good shoes, she would go to Nine West or Aldo," Sarah told Net-A-Porter. "So I got shoes from there and the bottom of the shoes aren't leather, they are plastic, so I slipped a couple times, twisted my ankle."

Following the twisted ankle, Parker was forced to go to a doctor where she learned the bad news.

"I went to a foot doctor and he said, 'Your foot does things it shouldn't be able to do. That bone there…You've created that bone. it doesn't belong there,'" the actress continued.

As a result, Parker has suggested cheap shoes are to blame.

"The moral of the story is, the chickens are coming home to roost," she said. "It's sad, because my feet took me all over the world, but eventually they were like, 'You know what, we are really tired, can you just stop – and don't put cheap shoes on us?'"

New arrival heels at Aldo and Nine West start at around $70 and go upward of $200. The average woman spends about $50 on a pair of shoes, according to Radar Online.
