Scarlett Johansson, Romain Dauriac Divorce News: Former Couple Finalizes Divorce One Year After Separating
Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac are now officially divorced one year after they separated. The former couple has finalized their divorced and settled the custody battle over their daughter after two years of marriage.
According to court records submitted Tuesday in Manhattan, Johansson and Dauriac reached an agreement regarding the custody of three-year-old Rose Dorothy. The terms of the divorce were sealed, however, according to a report on Wednesday.
The divorce appeared to have gone smoothly and the two remain on amicable terms with each other if their recent statement to Us Weekly is to be any hint. "We remain close friends and co-parents with a shared commitment to raising our daughter in a loving and compassionate environment," the recently divorced couple said.
It was reported back in January that the Avengers star was the one who called it quits on her marriage to the 35-year-old French journalist. The two apparently didn't have much in common in terms of lifestyle and so the 32-year-old actress made the decision to split. She filed for divorce in March saying that the marriage was "irretrievably broken." Dauriac also said that his life was starting to revolve around his wife's schedule as the actress travels so much for filming.
The decision inevitably caused a custody battle for their daughter with Johansson wanting the girl to live with her in New York. Dauriac opposed the move as he believed their daughter should live in France with him. In the end, the courts put in place an informal co-parenting agreement in place for them to spend every other week with their daughter.
During their separation prior to the finalization of their divorce, Johansson has enjoyed a string of dates with 35-year-old Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost. The two were spotted in public earlier this month and she reportedly kissed the comedian during a Diana Ross concert in New York.
