'Scream Queens' Season 2 News: Show Casting For Four New Characters? Popstar Taylor Swift To Join?

Fans were quite pleased and excited to hear that Ryan Murphy's hit mystery crime drama TV series "Scream Queens" got renewed for Season 2. However, the story for the new season of the series will be different from the last. This time around, the show will bring the action from the campus out into a nearby hospital.

What is even more interesting, as recently reported by EOnline.com, is that the series will be featuring four brand new male cast members.

While Fox or Murphy is yet to announce the names of the newcomers, E! hinted that the actors are in their 20s and 30s and that they will be portraying the roles of a medical professional. The site further speculated that it would be highly likely that most of the new cast members will be famous.

Aside from the new players in town, the media outlet also pointed out that four members of the Season 1 cast will be returning. Citing their sources, the names of these four actors are yet to be decided, much like the plot of the second installment has yet to be ironed out. However, E! said that there's a huge possibility for Jamie Lee Curtis, who played the part of Dean Cathy Munsch, and Emma Roberts, as Chanel Oberlin, to be the first two on the list.

A more recent casting update meanwhile appeared in Hollywood Life saying that the show might tap in with another pop icon. According to the online tabloid, fans of the series should expect the former country singer Taylor Swift joining the fray.

"Ryan Murphy really wants Taylor Swift to be a part of it," an insider who claims to have knowledge of the issue told HL. "And now that she has some time on her hands with no tour obligations, she is considering to take a part on the show. Ryan wants to write her a character so good that she has no reason to say No."

If this is true, Swift won't be the first big name to grace the TV show which formerly featured singers Ariana Grande (as Chanel #2), Nick Jonas (as Boone Clemens) and Chad Michael Murray (as Brad Radwell).

"Scream Queens" is slated to return to the airwaves this fall.
