Reports about Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber's rekindled romance have surfaced last week after the 21-year-old "What Do You Mean" singer publicly serenaded his 23-year-old ex-girlfriend. The rumors were further fueled when the former couple was spotted walking side-by-side after the sweet incident at a hotel lobby bar, according to People.
The source explained that Bieber and Gomez just had a friendly date at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills. The "My Girl" serenade was just very spontaneous and Bieber did it only because he was in the mood to do so. On Saturday, video clips of the sweet serenade made their way to Instagram, and people immediately assumed that the two singers have gotten back together.
Unfortunately, an insider told People that Gomez and Bieber have not gotten back together. The source said they only miss each other and they still care about each other, but they are not back on the romantic track, the report relays.
After the American Music Awards (AMAs) on Sunday, Gomez was present at Bieber's afterparty in Los Angeles, but a witness said they just acted friendly toward each other. Bieber was seen exiting the venue with singer Halsey, the report details.
The former couple has been apart for quite some time now after their rocky relationship. Bieber admitted that his "Mark My Words" song is about him refusing to let go of his love, who apparently is still Selena Gomez. He also told Ellen DeGeneres that three songs on his newest "Purpose" album are all about his ex-girlfriend.
"It is tough — there is a lot of stuff that reminds me of her," F&S quotes Bieber's statement to DeGeneres. "You know, in relationship, you see something on TV and you are like, 'I remember when we used to watch this or I remember that smell; it reminds me of that time.'"
Justin Bieber also told DeGeneres that he still sees a bit of possibility of him getting back with Selena Gomez. For now, he said he just wants her to be happy.
