'Sherlock' News, Update: Series Star Sheds Details On Character's Potential Love Affair In Season 4

BBC One's hit crime drama TV series "Sherlock" just aired its highly-anticipated Victorian-era inspired Christmas Special last year and is now moving forward to producing Season 4.

Fans of the series, however, might have to hold off their excitement as the three-part fourth season has got a long way to go before it hits the small screens. It is reported that production for the new season will commence this spring, yet the details are still being kept under wraps, at least of the plot.

In an interview, however, series actor Rupert Graves revealed to Collider.com a very interesting insight about his character, Greg Lestrade.

In his statement, it appears that fans might find the Detective Inspector romantically linked to Molly (Louise Brealey).

"I think definitely Lestrade has got the hots for Molly. So maybe they'll develop that. We don't know what happens until we see the scripts, and that could literally be a couple of weeks before you film," the 52-year-old revealed.

Although it might be really interesting to see the two characters getting together, the possibility is still really slim given the fact that Molly has already confirmed her big crush on Benedict Cumberbatch's titular character. It should also be noted that the members of the cast still haven't got their scripts for Season 4, so it can be deduced that this is all but based on his opinion.

Looking into the other probability, the series Mark Gatiss-exec produced series could really explore a different side of the detective, who happens to be only obsessed with Sherlock and his antics. Moreover, the Martin Freeman-co-starred series has already revealed the sleuth's utmost dedication for Irene Adler (Lara Pulver) with whom he went into great danger to save.

BBC is yet to confirm a specific release date for "Sherlock" Season 4. However, it is expected to hit the small screens later this year or early 2017.
