'Sherlock' Season 4 News & Spoilers: New Villains Introduced; Is Moriarty Out of the Picture?
Fans of the hit series "Sherlock" could be seeing a new villain when it returns with on its fourth season.
New Villains and Moriarty's Fate
A new character will be introduced who could possibly be an enemy of Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) and John Watson (Martin Freeman). The character, named AJ, will be played by Sacha Dhawan from "The History Boys."
Details about AJ is yet to be revealed but fans speculate that he will be seen as a guest star. AJ joins Toby Jones, who is confirmed as another villain that Sherlock Holmes will be up against.
Meanwhile, Sherlock's nemesis, Moriarty, is still not confirmed if he will be coming back for Season 4. Last season, Moriarty was seen falling from a building. However, fans speculate that he's really not dead and are hoping to see him return, given his intriguing connection with Sherlock. Other stars that will be taking part on "Sherlock" Season 4 include Daniel Hoffmann-Gill and James Holmes.
In addition, Sherlock may also have a new ally when the series returns. Sian Brooke could be one of the new characters working closely with Sherlock. However, there has yet to be any news regarding what her character is like.
Production Updates
Cumberbatch and Brooke were seen working on scenes all over the city. They were also seen at the top of the Jubilee Bridge, despite the horrible weather. In another scene, the two were back in the famous 221B Baker Street where many fans stayed to see them. Brooke expressed her gratitude for the fans who made their way down to the iconic street.
She said, "A huge thank you to everyone who came down to set today. A pleasure meeting you all. Massive love and hope you got home safe."
"Sherlock" Season 4 is expected to hit the small screens in January 2017.
