'Sleepy Hollow' Season 3 Premiere Date & Spoilers: Jenny And Joe Relationship Blooms; Papa Mills To Return

American supernatural drama TV series "Sleepy Hollow" season 3 is returning to the small screen very soon, which means followers of the show will finally see what will happen next after the events of the midseason finale.

It can be remembered in the finale episode that Abbie saved her sister Jenny by placing her power into the Shard of Anubis. But things didn't turn out as planned as the Shard got damaged which means it may cause an explosion that will destroy the town of Sleepy Hollow and its residents. Abbie did what she could to save everyone including Jenny and Ichabod Crane by stepping into Pandora's evil tree and going straight to the underworld with the Shard.

According to Design & Trend, when the show returns for season 3B, Jenny and Ichabod will be devastated with Abbie's disappearance. This will also lead Jenny to seek comfort from Joe, which may also result to a blossoming romance as teased by executive producer Albert Kim who told TVLine, "They [Jenny and Joe] have a very significant arc in Episode 9, and their relationship kind of hits some milestones in that one."

Moreover, someone is bound to return in the lives of Jenny and Abbie. In another report by TVLine, it teased that the sisters' deadbeat dad will be appearing in the second half of the season. Ezra Mills left his family when he could no longer handle the increasing mental instability of his wife.

But there may be more to that story and season 3B will reveal more of that. According to Kim, Papa Mills has been "a figure of mystery for both Abbie and Jenny for most of their lives" but once he appears, it will reveal how much is "missing from his perspective." The role will be filled in by "NYPD Blue" alum James McDaniel.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 3B will return on Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
