Sony Xperia Z4v Release Date News: September Verizon Reveal Up Ahead?
Reports have surfaced Verizon will be releasing the Sony Xperia Z4v by September, right after news emerged the US carrier would be discontinuing the smartphone's predecessor.
Ten months after Verizon Wireless launched the Sony Xperia Z3v, the U.S. telecommunications service provider discontinued its sale, giving rise to reports it will soon be carrying the Xperia Z4v by Sept. 3.
The Xperia Z4v is dubbed as a souped up version of Sony's flagship handset, the Xperia Z4, and is tipped to be priced at $599.99, with users given the option to trade in their old Xperia Z3vs to get a $220 discount on the new phone. Xperia Z3v users who opt not to trade their old units will get a smaller discount of $70 instead.

Verizon is also expected to market its $499 promotion for the phone during the first week of its release, giving users $100-value gift card from Google Play they can use to purchase movies, music, apps, and games
The Xperia Z4v will come with a 5.2-inch LCD QHD display with a 1440 x 2560 565ppi resolution. Powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset with an octa-core 2Ghz processor and an Adreno 430 GPU, it will be supported by 3GB of RAM and a 160GB maximum internal storage capacity, plus a 128GB-capacity microSD slot for additional memory.
The handset will have a 20.7MP rear camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera, as well as a 3,000mAh battery Sony claims will keep the phone running for two days at the maximum.
Measuring 144.4mm x 72.3mm x 8.7mm, the Xperia Z4v can be charged wirelessly via Powermat and Qi platform support, and is waterproof enough to be able to function even if submerged underwater for up to 9.8 feet. It will also come with Android 5.1 out of the box.
