Sony Xperia Z5 rumors: Images of 23MP rear camera with 6-element lens leaked
Press images of what are alleged to be the Sony Xperia Z5 have leaked online, showing a 23MP main camera with a 6-element lens.
Following an announcement of a September Sony press event where the Japanese tech giant promised to introduce a "smartphone with greater focus," a series of leaked images purported to be press photos of the upcoming Sony Xperia Z5 have made the rounds online, featuring a 23MP main camera.
One photo, which shows the deconstructed camera, displays its 6-element lens, and its 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor. Based on the Sony Xperia GB Twitter account pointing out the smartphone camera's advanced focusing technology, the Xperia Z5 will likely sport a hybrid autofocusing system.

The leaked images also show the latest Z series flagship phone in its various color variants: white, gold, and turquoise, coating the same OmniBalance designed found in the Xperia Z smartphone line.
The Xperia Z5 appears to have a slightly rounded framework with the Xperia logo engraved on its upper left side, and is expected to be water resistant like the rest of its predecessors.
Reportedly sporting a 5.5-inch Quad HD display over a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, it will be supported by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage running on a 4,500mAh battery. It may also have a fingerprint scanner and an 8MP front camera.
The Sony Xperia Z5 is expected to make its official debut at Sony's September 2 press conference for the IFA 2015 in Berlin. It is also slated to introduce the Xperia Z5 Compact, and its ultra high-end handset, the Xperia Z5 Premium with its 4K display during the same event, just a week before Apple unveils its iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in San Francisco on September 9.
