'Star Wars Battlefront 2' Multiplayer Maps And Modes Revealed

Electronic Arts has revealed new details on its upcoming action shooter "Star Wars Battlefront 2." A total of eleven multiplayer maps and five modes will be included in the sequel that is jam-packed full of content compared to its predecessor.

A trailer voiced by "Star Wars" actor John Boyega was also released showcasing the game's newly announced features. In a post on EA's official site, the publisher revealed that the upcoming game will have maps spanning all three eras of the franchise.

These include three prequel-era maps: Kamino, Kashyyyk and Theed; five original trilogy-era maps: Death Star II, Endor, Mos Eisley, Yavin 4 and Hoth; and three The "Force Awakens-era" maps: Starkiller Base, Jakku and Takodana.

Details about the game's multiplayer modes were also revealed. According to another post on the EA site, the game will feature a mode named "Strike," where two eight-player teams will compete in objective-based missions. A "Hero vs. Villain" mode has also been added where two teams of four players battle it out as characters from the Star Wars universe.

"Starfighter Assault" puts the players in the cockpit of ships, fighters, bombers, and interceptors and engage enemies in epic, multi-stage, space battles. "Galactic Assault" features large team-oriented battles while "Arcade" mode pits the players against AI opponents.

"Star Wars Battlefront 2" also reintroduces class-based gameplay where players can choose between the Assault, Heavy, Specialist, and Officer classes, all of which were featured in the new trailer. Each class has its own set of unique abilities, weapons, and attachments, giving more structure back into the game with team build.

EA is certainly bringing out the big guns with this sequel after the first game received harsh criticism for being "unfinished." Now with tons of new modes, features, and that all-important single-player campaign, the game is shaping up to be a surefire success.

"Star Wars Battlefront 2" is set to be released on Nov. 17 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
