'Star Wars: Episode 8 - The Last Jedi' Brings First Glimpse Of Leader Snoke
Lucasfilm has released the second trailer for "Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi" and it certainly got fans excited. Amid the impressive space battles and Rey's training, the trailer also brought with it a first glimpse Leader Snoke.
So far, all fans got to see of the enigmatic leader of the First Order in "The Force Awakens" was a hologram. A giant ominous hologram which doesn't really reveal much about him other than he is definitely not human like Darth Vader or The Emperor.
He was also featured in merchandise based on the film including figurine and trading cards. However, the trailer is the first to bring fans the "real" Snoke, skin and all.
The brief glimpse of the horribly-disfigured Snoke in the shot of Rey in distress reveals many things about him. For one, his gigantic figure in the holograms is greatly exaggerated.
He also seems to wear a much lighter set clothes compared to his predecessor. He also seems to have some knowledge with the force as this very same clothes can be seen in the scene where Rey appears to be levitating and in distress.
Aside from Snoke, the Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi trailer heavily features Kylo Ren and judging by the narration, the film will also reveal much about the character, particularly his betrayal of Luke and his rise in the First Order. It also shows a glimpse of him flying in his own custom TIE fighter which showcases his piloting skills.
One thing that is definitely interesting is the look on Luke Skywalker's face when Rey hands him his lightsaber. It's as if he was trying to avoid this particular scenario which probably hints that details about Rey's origins might also be revealed in the film.
"Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi" is set to be released on Dec. 15, 2017.
