'Stardew Valley' Creator Discusses Plans For Next Game
Despite a gaming market saturated with AAA releases, there is always that one indie title that manages to stand out. "Stardew Valley" is one such title which has proven quite successful that the creators are now planning their next project.
The indie farming simulation role-playing game offers gamers a delightful experience akin to those of other farming simulators like "Harvest Moon." While Nintendo Switch owners are enjoying the game's port to the hardware consoles, developer ConcernedApe is already looking forward to working on a new title.
Creator Eric Barone was originally reluctant to share the details of his upcoming project. However, in a recent Reddit AMA, he opened up to questions from fans about "Stardew Valley" and other topics.
In between talks of his favorite residents in the game as well as any secrets ConcernedApe may have hidden, Barone hinted at his excitement about their latest project. He was, however, very careful as to not divulge many details about it.
"I have plans for my next game, but I don't want to reveal anything for a while ... creating hype too far in advance is a lot of pressure, and ultimately I don't think it benefits anyone," Barone said, teasing the mysterious content. "I prefer to work in an isolated bubble."
While he isn't too inclined on sharing, it seems that the next title will still be set in the same universe as the farming sim. Barone has confirmed that won't be a sequel or an expansion but will still be on the same planet.
Barone did hint that their new project will be more ambitious compared to their previous work though. Having considered what he did with "Stardew Valley," he admits they didn't push the game to the limit but instead followed an already made path carved out by the likes of "Harvest Moon."
Whatever the game may be, it is definitely one to watch out for, at least as far as indie titles are concerned.
