'Street Fighter 5' Producer Leaves Capcom
"Street Fighter 5" and "Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite" producer Peter Rosas has parted ways with Capcom. The producer and former competitive Street Fighter announced his departure in a post on Capcom-Unity last Friday.
"I've been fortunate enough to work on the games that shaped my life, a definite dream come true, but now I feel it's time for the next generation to be able to do the same," Rosas wrote in his post. "There's no doubt in my mind that the current generation has their own unique ideas that will push Capcom's fighting games forward in terms of innovation and evolution."
"ComboFiend," as he was known in the pro fighting game community, also served as community manager at Capcom. In his goodbye post, Rosas said that his time at the company will remain as some of his most memorable experiences and while he might be part of Capcom anymore, he will still be part of the community.
I now join you all once again as a member of the community and as a Capcom fan," he wrote. "I'm confident the team here will continue to do great work for all of us who love not only fighting games, but games in general."
Rosas did not specify his reason for leaving Capcom in his post or whether it was his decision to begin with. Comments on his post paint a mixed reaction to his departure with some wishing him good luck while others appearing indifferent to his departure.
"Street Fighter 5" recently announced an arcade version of the game set to arrive in 2018. The updated version of the fighting game will include new modes such as Arcade Mode, Extra Battle Mode and new V-Trigger moves to the fighting game alongside the first two seasons of downloadable characters.
"Street Fighter 5" is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, Arcade game, and Linux.
