Super Bowl Half Time 2016 Performance Preview, Schedule Features Coldplay and Beyonce
Katy Perry's performance last year at the Super Bowl effectively set a barometer for the next performers to do more. This year, the halftime performance will be in the hands of British rock band Coldplay and American artist Beyonce.
Coldplay has officially been named as the headliner for Super Bowl 50's halftime show on Sunday, Feb. 7. And while that seems to be something that everyone already knows, the twist comes in the form of Beyonce, who eventually will be performing live with the band on stage.
Chris Martin, the band's lead singer, revealed that their performance will be in line with the NFL's campaign called "On the Fifty." It is a concept of bringing in the memories of the past and honoring the events and the people that took a part in the league's past, present, and future.

The right to perform in the Super Bowl, which by the way is America's most popular and biggest sporting event, has been considered as one of the most sought-after privileges of any recording artist. And with both Coldplay and Beyonce getting that honor this year, it certainly looks to be one hell of an event.
Coldplay is a success story in its own right. They're winners of seven Grammy Awards and own several chart-toppers like "Fix You" and "Yellow." Beyonce, on the other hand, actually has previously donned the Super Bowl stage back in 2013 when she performed together with her Destiny's Child members. This year's halftime performance therefore gives her the second opportunity to entertain the biggest sports audience of the year.
It's no surprise organizers decided to put these two artists on stage since they already have a history of musical collaboration. In fact, Coldplay has Beyonce as a featured artist in two of their songs in their new album "A Head Full of Dreams."
So regardless of who's winning this year's Super Bowl, we're pretty sure the halftime performance will steal the show!
