'Supergirl' Season 1 Spoilers: Astra Set to Return, Italia Ricci Cast as Work Nemesis for Kara
American television series "Supergirl" just aired an intense episode that involved the main character having no powers while trying to save humans and fighting off evil.
According to Entertainment Weekly, season 1 episode 7 of "Supergirl" titled "Human for a Day" showed Kara, aka Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), drained of her powers after her fight with Red Tornado. She will need some time to recharge so she walks around just like any other human, even catching a cold.
But when an earthquake hits National City, Kara had to save lives even without her powers. At one point, she suited up to stop a robber even though she is not bulletproof and one push of the gun's trigger will kill her. As a human, all that Kara could do was to appeal to the robber's humanity and says she has faith he will choose to be a better man. Luckily, the robber softened and handed over the gun.

Next week's episode will feature a return of a villain though. According to Unreality TV, season 1 episode 8 will be titled "Hostile Takeover." It will feature Kara's evil aunt Astra (Laura Benanti) who is set to come back to bring wrath on her niece and the city she lives in. She was seen a few episodes ago but she hasn't really done much damage yet. But things will be different upon her return. Astra will be challenging Kara's beliefs about her mother.
The source also noted that Kara's boss Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) will be having problems of her own. The official synopsis released revealed that Cat is at risk of being kicked out of her position as CEO of CatCo after a hacker uncovers her private and damaging emails.
In other news, a new face will be joining the cast. HNGN reported that Italia Ricci will be playing a major recurring role that will create some trouble for Kara at work and while she is protecting National City as Supergirl. She will play the character Siobhan Smythe, a new recruit at CatCo. She will also become a nemesis of Kara as she transforms into DC villain Silver Banshee.
"Supergirl" season 1 airs every Monday at 8 p.m. on CBS.
