'Supergirl' Season 1 Spoilers: James, Winn Talk To Kara; Astra Getting Detained At DEO

In just a matter of days, CBS' hit superhero drama TV series "Supergirl," will return on air after a brief winter break. To get the fans even more pumped up, the network released a promo trailer this week for the opening episode titled "Blood Bonds."

In the rather short sneak peek, Kara (Melissa Benoist) has found out that Hank Henshaw (David Harewood) is actually the shape-shifting alien refugee from Mars, J'onn J'onzz. Comic book fans have long known the character as the Martian Manhunter.

It is yet to be revealed as to how the Kryptonian girl got wind of the information on Hank's true identity. Benoist, however, revealed during an interview with Collider that the revelation was "really funny" and that the fans should be on the lookout for it.

Speaking of revealing identities, the promo also shows Cat (Calista Flockhart) throwing a knowing look to her personal assistant and telling her that one dreaded truth: "Beyond shadow of a doubt, you are Supergirl."

It would be safe to deduce that Kara Zor-El will not confirm the words of the CatCo president. In fact, the synopsis shared over at BuddyTV.com said that she will continue "to refute Cat's allegations" about her being the Supergirl.

The summary went on to point out that the new segment will find the protagonist quite a little bit busy. Adding more pressure to the situation is the ongoing strife with Non (Chris Vance) who got Hank. It appears that trouble will definitely come to Team Supergirl if they won't release Astra (Laura Benanti) from her captivity at the DEO.

The site further shared some snippets from the episode showing James (Mehcad Brooks) and Winn (Jeremy Jordan) working together on something, with the succeeding photos showing them talking intimately with the hero/secretary. Could they be discussing her true identity?

Find out more when "Supergirl" Season 1 airs this Monday, Jan. 4 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
