'Supergirl' Season 1 Winter Finale Spoilers: Kara Goes Up Against A Family Member

There's going to be a big war when CBS' hit superhero drama TV series "Supergirl" Season 1 returns for its winter finale airing. Meanwhile, someone is about to get fired when private information leaks out into the open.

As pointed out by the synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic for the episode called "Hostile Takeover," Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) will confront her equally powerful aunt from the planet Krypton, Astra (Laura Benanti), when the latter speaks ill of her sister, Kara's mother.

The promo video shared over at YouTube for the episode teased a heated clash between the two family members. From the looks of it, it appears that their encounter will be a bloody one.

If fans may remember from the flashbacks shown throughout the series, Kara's mother worked for the Kryptonian government and it was her who locked up Astra in Fort Rozz.

Bent on getting even with her sibling, Astra made it her life's mission to take revenge. But since Kara's mother is dead, it is now Supergirl and the people of National City who will suffer her wrath. Needless to say, Astra will have a hard time carrying out her plans as the lowly CatCo employee won't allow anyone to harm her and her city.

Speaking of CatCo, the summary from TFC also said that the company's founder, Cat (Calista Flockhart), will be in danger of getting kicked out as CEO of CatCo. This so happens when her personal emails are hacked and are leaked online by the hacker.

Fans are yet to find out as to who is behind the cyber-attack. Needless to say, this someone could be from the inside. How will Cat's trusty personal assistant be able to help her boss get out from this mess?

"Hostile Takeover" will surely end with a shocker or cliffhanger so fans better brace themselves.

The "Supergirl" Season 1 winter finale airs this Monday, Dec. 14, on CBS.
