'Supernatural' Season 11 Cast News: Jim Beaver Reprises Role As Bobby Singer In An Upcoming Mid-season Episode
One familiar face from Season 5 is slated to return for the second half of Season 11 of The CW's hit drama TV series, "Supernatural."
According to the latest casting report from TVLine, actor Jim Beaver will once again be donning an old trucker's hat and reprising his role as Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean's (Jensen Ackles) father figure, Bobby Singer.
The character was recently featured in one of the previous episodes of Season 10 and will reportedly appear via flashbacks in Episode 16 of Season 11B.
Bobby, who affectionately called the brothers "idjits," won't be ghost hunting alone. The media outlet went on to reveal that he will be joined by his hunting buddy Rufus, played by Steven Williams. The latter was the one who introduced Singer to the world of the supernatural. Unfortunately, he was killed off back in Season 6 by a Khan worm-possessed Bobby.
To further provide details about the upcoming episode, executive producer Jeremy Carver sat down with TVLine and said, "[Dean and Sam] are going to be investigating an old case that was once investigated by Bobby and Rufus." This would have taken place during Season 5, explains Carver.
He adds, "There's a lot of great throwbacks to things that happened" and this would also include "the wonderful relationship between Bobby and Rufus. That's going to be a really neat episode."
"Supernatural" Season 11 is slated to return Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 9/8c with an episode called "The Devil in the Details" and the synopsis from The Futon Critic reads:
"Now that he has Sam in the cage with him, Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) offers Sam a way out but it comes with a steep price. Dean and Castiel (Misha Collins) look into the angel smiting that could have killed Amara (Emily Swallow)."
Stay tuned for more updates.
