Lucifer (Rick Springfield) will be taking on a body of a rock star to face off with Castiel (Misha Collins) in the upcoming "Supernatural" Season 12.

Castiel and Lucifer Face Each Other

In the previous season, Lucifer used Castiel as his vessel. He will eventually leave Castiel's body to take over a rock star icon who has issues with his stardom this upcoming season.

Springfield shared in a report that he is enjoying his role as Lucifer and he appreciates the well-written script. He further stated that he spends two hours getting his make-up done for a scene, which he concluded was an incredible thing to do. There are other reports about the make-up being a significant part of the role.

The upcoming season will also have Castiel and Lucifer face off for a confrontation. Castiel has been planning his revenge against Lucifer all along. This season might be the time for them to end the battle. Castiel will also gain his full power this time. With him being powerful, a time travel may be possible in the upcoming season.

A Family Reunion

Season 12 will also feature Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam's (Jared Padalecki) reunion with their mother. Castiel will play a big part in the reunion. The brothers will also be dealing with a lot of family issues. Being away from their mother for more than 30 years, each of them will need a major adjustment. There will be a missing part in each of them that they need to fill for all the years that they were separated.

It looks like the hunting won't stop anytime soon as Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) was discovered to be a hunter herself. It has been reported that Mary was a hunter, but gave it up for the sake of her children. However, John Winchester (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) continued to be a hunter, while Dean and Sam followed their footsteps afterwards.

The show has been running for quite a long time now and fortunately, there's no news about the final season. In a report, CW president Mark Pedowitz shared that the series may last longer than him in the industry. He added that the show's future renewals will depend on its ratings. He then concluded that as long as Ackles and Padalecki are happy about it, then there is no reason to end the show.

"Supernatural" Season 12 will be back on October 13, 2016.
