'Teen Wolf' Season 7 Spoilers: Executive Producer Jeff Davis May Not Bring Back Dylan O'Brien
Fans of the hit supernatural drama TV series from MTV, "Teen Wolf," rejoiced when its executive producer announced at the show's panel in the recently-held San Diego Comic-Con event in California, that the program has been renewed for a sixth season.
A more recent interview with the showrunner Jeff Davis, as cited over at Christian Today, revealed that the Tyler Posey-starred teen drama was actually renewed for two seasons.
"I can say that i got something, i'm not sure if it will be used, because it's a 2 Season deal. Because it has 2 different story lines that follow up," Davis was quoted as saying when he was asked what his idea is for Season 6.
In fact, the series creator hoped not only to make a total of 10 seasons but also "1 or 2 movies" about the Beacon Hills teens.
However, with the good news comes the not so desirable part. Davis admitted that as the show progresses, one of the major cast members might be reduced to a recurring position. Even worse, he might have to let Dylan O'Brien go.
Apparently, the key reason for the "Maze Runner" star's displacement would be the return of Daniel Sharman's character, Isaac Lahey, who, after the defeat of the Nogitsune, left town and did not come back.
As he further explained, if the character shows up in the second part of this current season and the producers will push through with the 2-season expansion plan, then Isaac would be the perfect beta in Scott's pack.
"After the 2 Season deal if it happens, I would really like someone else in the lead with Tyler Posey, because I think I have to let Stiles go after that, maybe he stays, maybe not," he said.
For the meantime, "Teen Wolf" Season 5B is slated to return to the small screens this January 5 on MTV.
Stay tuned for more updates.
