'Teen Wolf' Season 6 Cast News: Ross Butler Joins Show as Lacrosse Player
The world of MTV's hit supernatural drama TV series "Teen Wolf" is about to get even bigger when its highly anticipated Season 6 premieres this year.
According to the latest casting report from The Wrap, the Beacon Hills High School is set to welcome its new lacrosse varsity player in the person of Nathan, played by "Riverdale" actor Ross Butler. The new character is described to be the "new sexy member" of the said sports team "who doesn't believe in the supernatural." Obviously, this kind of perception is about to change when he gets to meet the Scott (Tyler Posey), Stiles (Dylan O'Brien), Liam (Dylan sprayberry), and the rest of the pack.
The 25-year-old quickly took to his Twitter to share the great news to his fans on the social media.
Aside from The CW's "Riverdale," Butler's other TV credits also include roles on Freeform's "Chasing Life," and on Disney Channel's "K.C. Undercover."
Butler's involvement on the show comes exactly a month after series star Arden Cho announced her departure as the beloved Kira Yukimura.
For those who missed it, the 30-year-old TV actress posted a YouTube video aptly called "Goodbye Teenwolf." In the clip, the star seems to be lost for words as she tries to mumble the sad news that she won't be reprising the aforementioned role in the upcoming Season 6.
"A lot of you guys have been asking about Teen Wolf and what's been happening, and I just want to say, I love Kira Yukimura," she said in the video. "I love the Yukimura family. I loved my expirence on Teen Wolf. I love the cast and crew. It's been an amazing 3 and a half years. It's gone by so fast. But, unfortunately, it looks like we are wrapped up with Kira's storyline and she won't be coming back for season six."
Cho, however, expressed how she would have wanted to see her character developed a bit more in terms of powers and abilities. If not, it would also be interesting for the show to explore further the lore of the Skinwalkers. Nonetheless, she made it clear that she's thankful for everything that has happened to her in the MTV show.
"Teen Wolf" Season 6 premieres this June. Stay tuned for more updates.
