'Tekken 7' Release Date Rumors: Match-Making Issue Not Yet Confirmed

Following the announcement of "Tekken 7" during the Paris Games Week, new reports state that the game will not only bring in new characters but will also come with a match-making feature.

Last year, it was reported that Bandai Namco is bringing players together through the match-making feature, and though there have been little updates over the past months about the said feature, newer reports suggest that it's still happening.

Game designer Michael Murray said that the match-maker will allow for fans around the world to engage in friendly competition. This is good news for those who believe they have actually beaten players in their area and are up for the challenge of going against other players in the west and beyond.

Murray clarified during his previous interviews that the team is still discussing how they can bring the exciting feature into "Tekken 7" since many fans are already expecting to experience playing with other fans aside from those in their local areas.

There is a huge issue that has to be resolved, though, if the game does come with a match-maker. Murray noted that gamers playing on the PlayStation 4 could possibly experience an opponent disconnecting. While this isn't such a big deal for PS4 owners, arcade players will largely be affected money-wise. This is because arcade players pay real-time money, and when someone from the other side of the world disconnects, it also means money is lost.

The said issue will definitely become a worldwide trend, and as expected, Bandai Namco has not yet struck a deal on how to solve it. This means fans will either have to extend their patience for a match-maker to be introduced in "Tekken 7" or just rest on the idea that it will probably never happen in the near future.

Meanwhile, new characters are expected to enter the roster aside from those who have been confirmed to join including Kazumi Mishima, Kazuya's mother.

Other announcements are expected to be made in the coming months, but until then, fans will just have to wait until "Tekken 7" releases sometime this year to find out if the match-making feature will come along.
