Tesla Model 3 Deliveries Date Update 2017: SpaceX Employee Hints At Quicker Than Expected Production
Production for the Tesla Model 3 is ramping up in what is perhaps the most important news as far as the electric car industry is concerned. If it successfully pulls this off, the auto industry could be in for a quick change of pace as a massive fleet of Tesla cars begins flooding highways within a year.
The news comes after an alleged SpaceX employee by the name of Rocketman posted on a Model 3 Owners Club forum. The not-so-subtly named Rocketman dropped a big hint regarding the delivery date of Tesla's highly-anticipated electric car.
"Ahhhh! Just got the call from Tesla today about my Model 3 delivery," the ecstatic SpaceX employee posted. "My tesla account says Oct-Dec delivery and they told me that I will more than likely have the car by the end of this month!"
If what Rocketman claimed is true that his vehicle will be delivered by the end of the month, then that means Tesla is already well into production of the Tesla Model 3. That would imply that the previous October to December time frame is now obsolete as it seems that production is one to three months "ahead of schedule."
This is great news coming from Tesla, something that could drastically alter the vehicle demographic of America's roads. However, it is also a gamble and something that could potentially put the fledgling automaker in the red for quite some time.
If Tesla prevails, people will quickly be propelled to a very different automotive future where electricity is king. However, if the production of the Tesla Model 3 falls apart from the seams during what can only be described as "production hell" then Tesla might have to focus on recuperating its losses instead of developing new models.
For the sake of the environment though, many hope that Tesla succeeds in this endeavor. For Elon Musk, the kid from South Africa who wanted to change the world, well this will be one giant leap towards his goal.
