'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 Spoilers: Will Amy and Sheldon Get Married Already?

Now that Sheldon and Amy are back together, fans are waiting for the two to continue pushing their relationship forward in "The Big Bang Theory" season 9.

After the finale of "The Big Bang Theory" season 8, Sheldon, played by Jim Parsons, was seen heartbroken when Amy decided to break up with him. It proved to be an emotional scene when it was shown that Sheldon was about to propose to her with an engagement ring.

However, things took a turn for the better when the two were seen getting back together in the previous episode of season 9. With that, there is the question as to whether the two will be getting married any time soon.

The executive producer of the series, Steve Molaro, recently shared some details about how their relationship could progress in the episodes to come. Unfortunately, he explained that the two will not be going forward with the wedding anytime soon. However, he explained that the ring will definitely be brought back in the future.

According to TV Guide, he stated, "At some point, I'm sure it will [bring it back]. I promise you we have not forgotten about it."

Since the first half of season 9 put a lot of focus on Amy and Sheldon, Molaro explained that the rest of the episodes will be centered around the other characters. He stated, "The entire season so far has been pretty Sheldon-Amy-centric following their breakup and reuniting. This gives us a chance to take a little breather. Obviously, they're in it and they matter, but it's a chance to let them be happy in the background and refocus on the other amazing characters on this show."

With that, fans should not expect Sheldon and Amy to tie the knot anytime soon.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 is expected to return on Jan. 7.
