'The Conjuring 2' News: James Wan Challenged

After the success of the horror film, "The Conjuring," fans are excited to see what the second installment has in store.

With "The Conjuring 2" coming soon to theaters, the trailer of the film was recently released during Wonder Con. As reported by Collider, the director of the film James Wan was able to share some details about his experience in working on the film. Wan stated that he has always enjoyed working on films such as "The Conjuring." He said, My work, me a lot of times, has been inspired by the horror stories I grow up with. I'd like to creating new stuff if I could.

With that, since "The Conjuring" was well received by viewers, Wan explained that it was difficult to choose how to go on from the story. He said that he and his team were challenge in deciding what story to take on. However, he also revealed that the upcoming movie will still be related in a way to the previous installment.

He said, "It was a bit of a challenge to decide which story would be the next to follow up the first Conjuring with. We knew that in some ways we had to touch on their most famous case, and that is Amityville. Amityville in some ways dictated what the rest ... would be. We wanted to find a story that mirrored each other."

With that, Patrick Wilson and Vera Fermiga will take on the roles of Ed and Lorraine Warren, respectively. They will be seen helping those who are have paranormal encounters. The film will show them assisting a single mother with four children. The story will be set in London, in a house where strange occurances have been taking place.

"The Conjuring 2" is expected to hit theaters this Jun. 17.
