'The Exorcist' Season 2 Spoilers: Father Bennett Finds A Partner Against The Church Conspiracy

Despite the conspiracy at the heart of the church rising to the highest levels in "Exorcist" season 2 episode 2, Father Bennett (Kurt Egyiawan) still appears to be the only one worried about it. However, as he is about to track down another rogue church operative named Mouse (Zuleikha Robinson) who is waging her own war against the conspiracy.

The episode first saw Father Bennett trying to warn the Office of Exorcism in Vatican about a new threat. However, he finds his efforts seem to be going nowhere as menacing forces thwart any progress.

This puts the priests definitely at odds with the church, if not for the very considerate treatment being given to him by his colleagues in the church. It's as if they are trying to let Father Bennett's accusations blow over by telling him his worries are the result of being under a lot of stress.

Nevertheless, he does not waver in his beliefs that the church is being manipulated by a demonic cabal and seeks out a willing accomplice to root it out. However, his would-be partner seems to be more inclined to continue waging a one-woman crusade against the conspiracy than teaming up with the priest.

Meanwhile, rogue priest Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) and his escort Father Tomas (Alfonso Herrera) escape the custody of Cindy's enraged family and travel to Seattle where they encounter a new possession case. This time, it's a young girl who has been targeted by a force of pure evil.

So far, Marcus has not been too keen on making friends with the clergy as well as Tomas. However, this particular exorcism could change everything as it seems this isn't something they encounter on a regular basis.

Be sure to catch "The Exorcist" season 2 episode 3 "Unclean" when it airs on Oct. 13, 2017, 9:01 p.m. ET.
