'The Flash' Season 2 News: Showrunner Teases Future Romance Between Iris West And New Boss

Following her fiancé Eddie Thawne's (Rick Cosnett) tragic death in "The Flash" Season 1, it appears that Iris West (Candice Patton) may be moving on when the show returns with the second half of Season 2.

According to "The Flash" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, Season 2B will see Iris making progress in her professional and romantic lives. "So much of this year for [Iris] has been [about] family," Kreisberg told TVLine. But a renewed vigor for her work and a new boss at Central City Picture News, Scott Evans (Tone Bell), will spice up Iris' life in upcoming episodes of the "Arrow" spinoff.

"It's interesting, because [Scott] can't stand The Flash," Kreisberg revealed.

"He thinks The Flash is a phony, and he has a great storyline about why he doesn't believe in heroes anymore," he explained. "So, whereas Iris has become a little bit like Lois Lane [as] The Flash's biggest booster, her new editor is dedicated to taking some of the shine off [the superhero]," the showrunner added.

Kreisberg also disclosed that though their opposite opinions on Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) will lead to conflict between the two, "There is chemistry between them." But what does this mean for the Barry-Iris relationship? 

The "Flash" boss also let slip that in Season 2B, Barry will have bigger revelations that he will have to tell Iris and that things between the pair will change in such a way that will make "The Flash" fans happy.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly has shared the first official photos of Deathstorm and Killer Frost, both of whom are set to appear in an upcoming episode called "Welcome to Earth-2." Deathstorm and Killer Frost are the villainous Earth-2 counterparts of Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) and Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker).

"The Flash" makes its spring debut with "Potential Energy," which airs Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 8/7c on The CW.
