'The Flash' Season 2 News, Spoilers: Producers Talk Killer Frost's Death, Man in the Iron Mask Reveal
The season 2 finale of The CW's "The Flash" will unveil the true identity of the Man in the Iron Mask. And in a recent Q&A with the press, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said that the revelation "is going to blow your mind."
But before that, Kreisberg said that the next episode of "The Flash," titled "Rupture," will see whether or not Wells' (Tom Cavanagh) idea of causing another particle accelerator explosion to get Barry's (Grant Gustin) speed back will work. As the "Flash" boss told reporters, what Team Flash will be attempting is both complicated and dangerous, and everyone on the team, including Barry himself, will have to figure out whether or not it is the right thing to do, considering that the last particle accelerator explosion wreaked havoc in Central City.
"They're now faced with a damned if you do, damned if you don't, because Zoom is about to unleash a reign of terror on the city," Kreisberg explained (via Entertainment Weekly).

In the previous episode, "Back to Normal," Zoom killed Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) once he had taken Caitlin Snow, her original version, from Earth-1.
According to Kreisberg, while having Caitlin and Killer Frost in the same scene gave them the opportunity "to deepen both characters," ultimately, Killer Frost had to go.
When asked why the show had to kill off Killer Frost, Kreisberg answered (via The Hollywood Reporter), "Even she said, the only reason he had to keep her alive was she was a living remembrance of him caring about [Caitlin]."
Kreisberg also spoke about the much-anticipated unveiling of the Man in the Iron Mask, who was introduced in the current season's 14th episode. Since the mysterious character's first appearance, there has been rampant speculation about his true identity.
"The answer is going to blow your mind," Kreisberg told the press. "Honestly, the two things that I am most proud of this season are Harry and the identity of the man in the mask."
"The Flash" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
