'The Flash' Season 2 Spoilers: Girder Returns In Episode 21; Series Star Teases 'Extreme' Finale
There are now only a handful of episodes left before Season 2 of The CW's hit superhero drama TV series "The Flash" concludes. Things are definitely heating up and getting more intense as it moves forward this week.
The show reopens Season 2 with a brand new episode, where one character is expected to return. Meanwhile, a member of the cast teases what would be an "extreme" season finale.
The spoiler report from Carter Matt for the episode, titled "The Runaway Dinosaur," indicated that Tony Woodward (Greg Finley) will return. What makes this piece of detail quite confusing is the fact that Girder, as he is also called, was already dead back in Season 1. He was killed by Blackout (Michael Reventar).
The media outlet speculates ways that could bring back the brute kid. For one, it could be that this will be his doppelganger from Earth-2. There's also the possibility that this version of the meta-human may come from another timeline.
Of course, Girder's return means big trouble, and there's no one to put him down as Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is yje ecurrently out of the picture. The Futon Critic's episode synopsis hinted that Iris West (Candice Patton) could be the key in defeating the organic steel transformer. She will set herself as bait to trap him again inside STAR Labs.
In related news, series star Tom Cavanagh spoke with Entertainment Weekly about what's coming up for the show's season-ender.
"This is the domain of television where, when you've done something for 22 episodes and it builds up to something in the 23rd hour, that's a joy to get to play it, because here comes the pay off," the actor who plays Earth-2 Wells told EW. "In many ways, where we're leading to for the season, the payoffs are extreme."
The Canadian actor chose to keep mum about the details, but it's quite evident that fans better brace themselves for what is about to come in the show's season finale.
"The Flash" Season 2 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
