'The Flash' Season 2B News: Robbie Amell Back In FIRESTORM Costume; Showrunner Explains Character's Return
A hero who lived up to his name, Robbie Amell's Ronnie Raymond, the half of the fire-based superhero, FIRESTORM, has sacrificed himself to save Central City and the world as well, from the destruction brought by the Singularity in the Season 2 premiere of The CW's hit superhero drama TV series "The Flash."
The good news is that Amell will be back to reprise his role as Ronnie. The bad news is, fans won't find him to be the same person that they know of who fought alongside Martin Stein (Victor Garber). In fact, he might be a Ronnie Raymond who will give Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) some headache.
Confirming the report is executive producer Andrew Kreisberg who, in a recent interview, told Entertainment Weekly that Amell will return to portray the Earth-Two version of the aforementioned character.

"We are beyond excited to have Robbie back on The Flash," the show boss revealed to the media outlet. "You can't keep a good Firestorm down. Only this time, he's back with a twist, a deadly Earth-Two version of our beloved Ronnie in the form of Deathstorm."
The news of Amell's comeback didn't come as a big surprise at all. Last year, the 27-year-old shared a photo of himself and Franz Drameh, who plays the current one-half of Firestorm, Jax Johnson, on "Flash" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow."
Later that month, the brother of "Arrow" cast member Stephen Amell, posted a photo of the chest piece that he and Stein used to infuse.
Comic book fans, meanwhile, know that Deathstorm is a member of the Black Lantern Corps in the said alternative realm. He's also in collaboration there with Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) who herself, is a dangerous character named Killer Frost.
"The Flash" Season 2 Episode 10 "Potential Energy" is slated to air this Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
