'The Flash' Season 2B News, Update: New Promo Video Offers Glimpse Of The Earth-2 Barry, Iris, And Killer Frost

Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) plate is about to get even more filled when the second half of the CW's hit superhero drama series, "The Flash" Season 2, returns to the airwaves in the coming weeks.

In a recent casting report from Entertainment Weekly, it has been learned that Season 1's big bad, The Reverse-Flash, will be coming back to Central City. However, it won't be as what the fans expected.

Tom Cavanagh, who played the character for the most part, won't be reprising the role. Instead, actor Matt Letscher will reportedly take on the part as Eobard Thawne in episode 11 of Season 2B aptly called "The Reverse-Flash Returns."

According to executive producer Todd Helbing who happens to write this particular segment, the Yellow Flash's "impossible return" to Barry's city places one of the STAR Labs team members in "unexpected danger." The Scarlet Speedster now has to make a "life-changing decision."

It has yet to be found out what this "life-changing decision" will be about, but as what the recently released promo trailer for Season 2B suggests, it appears that Barry will be forced to travel to Earth-Two with his friend, Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), as well as the other Harrison Wells (Cavanagh).

For those who missed it, Letscher's Eobard Thawne traveled back in time to kill Barry's mother. The long travel rendered him unable to beam himself back into his era. Left with no choice, the villain killed Cavanagh's Dr. Wells and assumed his identity all throughout the first season.

His secrets were eventually unearthed and conflict ensued. Everything ended when his ancestor, Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) shot himself. This caused the future Speedster to be eradicated from the timeline.

Given this fact, it seems that viewers should expect to see an Earth-Two Reverse-Flash.

With his return plus the ongoing threats from the evil Speedster Zoom, how will Barry and his friends be able to handle the threats?
