'The Flash' Spoilers: Actor Talks Reverse Flash, Teaser Pictures Released of New Villains

The CW's "The Flash" is set to return to television soon and ahead of time spoilers have popped up as the cast and crew reveal the identity of none other than the show's villain Reverse Flash.

The news was revealed at the Television Critics Association's winter television previews event where The CW hosted its "The Heroes and Villains of Arrow and Flash" panel. The spoiler came from none other than Reverse Flash himself, Tom Cavanagh who plays Dr. Harrison Wells on the show.

As fans and viewers may remember, the midseason finale of the show had Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash, both played by Grant Gustin, going head to head with his nemesis The Reverse Flash, who murdered his mother many years ago. However, it was revealed at the end that Barry's friend and mentor, Dr. Wells, was none other his worst enemy.

This begs the question of why Dr. Wells would help create the Flash, only to destroy him.

"We're going to see what happened that night from the Reverse Flash's point of view," Andrew Kreisberg, executive producer of "The Flash" and sister show "Arrow," said.

Dr. Wells isn't the only one to watch out for though, as news has popped up about another villain that Barry is set to encounter, none other than Leonard Start a.k.a. Captain Cold.

Teaser photos have been released by The CW about the returning villain, played by "Prison Break" actor Wentworth Miller. Leonard will make his way back to Central City, this time bringing along Mick Rory a.k.a. Heat Wave, played by another "Prison Break" actor Dominic Purcell.

The villainous metahumans have plans to trap The Flash, this time by kidnapping someone close to Barry to provoke a fight in the midseason return episode "Revenge of the Rogues."

"The Flash" is set to return on Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
