'The Following' Season 2 Spoilers: Ryan Struggles With Secret of Claire's Survival
"The Following" season two is in full swing leaving fans wondering what is in store for Ryan Hardy since Claire turned up alive.
Ryan (Kevin Bacon) just learned that Claire survived the stabbing that took place at the very end of season one. She has been in hiding under the Witness Protection Program with Joey in order to avoid Joe's followers who were still at large.
In addition to the shocking twist of Claire's fate on the show, Ryan's partner Mike knew about her survival all along and never told Ryan. Moreover, Mike helped Claire escape, but kept it all a secret even through Ryan's grief. Adding to the suspense, it is inevitable that Joe will find out that his wife being alive, which will surely result in heightened tensions.

Considering the recent development on Claire, "The Following" fans are anxious to learn how Ryan will cope. Kevin Bacon recently discussed the changes his character has made from season one to now on the show.
"Last year I was at the bottom, kind of rock bottom, and the involvement with the case almost started to heal me in a strange kind of way because I needed this, I feed on this," the actor told Examiner. "[In season two,] I'm more together but I have to get pulled back in and I have to go down to the bottom again and I have to be confronted with very, very serious questions of morality and right and wrong and doing the right thing."
Meanwhile, the synopsis for the Monday, April 7 episode "Betrayal" is as follows: "Joe targets an enemy's son after being publicly condemned. Elsewhere, Ryan hears news about Claire's reappearance; and Mandy makes a decision that could undo all of Joe's work."
Looking ahead, FOX recently revealed the synopsis for the upcoming episode entitled "The Reaping" which also provides clues about season two. According to the press release, Ryan is going to track down the Korban compound, and upon finding its location, he hopes to infiltrate the cult and capture Joe Carroll. However, all will not go as planned.
Furthermore, "The Reaping" will see Claire try to deliver a message to Joe through Carrie. Also, Weston must make a decision that will change the course of his life forever. "The Reaping" will air on Fox Monday, April 14.
