'The Good Wife' Season 6 Spoilers: Recap for Episode 13 'Dark Money'

On last Sunday's episode of "The Good Wife," Diane and Cary represent Colin Sweeney in court, and Alicia competes for money to fund her campaign.

Diane and Cary are representing Colin Sweeney, who allegedly killed his wife, in a defamation suit. It so happens that a television show called "Call it Murder" features a character called Bernard Loomis, who is very similar to Sweeney. Loomis has the same job as Sweeney, met his wife the same way, and the fictional Bernard killed his wife. So Loomis sues the show's producer, Greg Tierney, for defamation.

In court, Tierney's lawyer says that all the similarities are products of coincidence. Sweeney is not too confident with Diane and Cary and wants Alicia to represent him. Alicia is unable to do it because she's busy with her state's attorney campaign. Sweeney threatens to tell the press who funds her campaign, so she agrees to consult.

Back in court, Diane and Cary present evidence that proves that the show does defame Sweeney. But Tierney's lawyer, Krause, is set to prove that Sweeney did kill his wife.

Diane presents Detective Crowell's emails in which he threatens to get Sweeney, but the judge doesn't count it as evidence since they were obtained illegally. Somehow, the defense knew that someone hacked into the emails, and that person who leaked info to the defense is Renata, Sweeney's ex, who is very much alive.

Renata testifies for Krause in court. Later, Sweeney and his ex make up after Renata gets $2 million deal on her board seat.

In order to get a win for Sweeney, the team scrambles for more evidence and Alicia notices that the show used the Chumhum logo several times, which is a registered trademark. Because of this, the lawsuit is dropped.

Meanwhile, Alicia goes to Redmayne for campaign money, and Alicia is forced to deal with his advances and inappropriate remarks. Eventually, he tells her that he won't support Prady because he's gay. He offers Alicia $1 million in "dark money".

Later, Prady goes over to Redmayne for campaign money, and the old man tried to bait him into making appropriate comments about Alicia. He refuses to do so. Prady goes to see Alicia and they agree to stop communicating.

"The Good Wife" airs on Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.
