"The Good Wife" is set to come back for its seventh season, and there are reports that someone new will join the cast to be Eli Gold's love interest.
It seems that "Ugly Betty" star Vanessa Williams will become part of "The Good Wife" season 7 cast. She will be part of an "arc" in the next installment and portray a recurring role as a romantic partner for Eli Gold, according to Latin Post.
"The Good Wife" star Alan Cumming revealed the new cast addition to TV Line last Sunday during the Emmy's night. He said the "Desperate Housewives" star has already been cast as Eli's love interest in the next season of the CBS drama series.

CBS says Williams will act as Courtney Boalt, a very successful businesswoman, who will be a potential backer of Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) in his presidential bid. While she is in the process of getting involved in Florrick's campaign, she will meet Eli and sparks will fly between them, the report relays.
Showrunners Robert and Michelle King said they are very excited about Williams joining "The Good Wife's" cast.
"There are very few names you can put side-by-side that make you laugh," Latin Post quotes the executive producers' joint statement. "Alan Cumming and Vanessa Williams are at the top of that list. We couldn't be more excited."
As for the other happenings in "The Good Wife" season 7, Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) will show her prowess in court in the premiere episode of the new installment. She will take on a case that will help her restart her legal career, but she will have to compete with other legal representatives first, CarterMatt reports.
The first episode, which is titled "Bond," will show Alicia's attempt to revamp her fluctuating legal career by securing bail for suspects in bond court. She will compete with Attorney Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo), the report details.
"The Good Wife" season 7 will begin airing on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
