'The Good Wife' Will Be Seeing the Return of Two Fan Favorites in 2015 After Series' Winter Break
"The Good Wife" is an American legal and political drama series which first premiered on the CBS network on September 22, 2009. The show centers on Alicia Florrick, whose husband Peter Florrick was jailed for political corruption and a sex scandal. She returns to her job as a litigator after thirteen years of being a stay-at-home mother.
The series is already on its sixth season with the eight episode premiering tomorrow on the CBS network at 9:30 P.M.
The series will then be going on a winter break after premiering its mid-season finale on November 23. Afterwards, two fan favorites will be returning to the show to reprise their roles as Alicia Florrick's sharpest thorns.
Dylan Baker will be returning as Colin Sweeney in a 2015 episode and Laura Benanti will be returning as Sweeney's third wife Renata. Reports say that Colin will be returning to hire Florrick – or someone else – to sue a television show. On the other hand, Renata will be agreeing to testify against Colin in court.
"Colin Sweeney wants the firm to sue a TV show for defamation after the show steals his character, and makes it look like he killed his first wife. Laura Benanti also returns as his estranged third wife, Renata, who decides to testify against him in court," says co-creator Robert King.
In the meantime, the next episode of the series might be seeing the turning of tables against Alicia as Michael J. Fox will be returning to reprise his role as Louis Canning. The official synopsis of episode 8 reads: "Alicia is going to take on a college rape case, which pits her against Louis Canning when it moves from a university to a civil court."
