'The Last Of Us 2' Voice Cast Revealed: Laura Bailey, Victoria Grace, and More
After unveiling a somewhat violent trailer for "The Last of Us 2" at the Paris Game Week, Naughty Dog has revealed the voice cast for the upcoming game.
In a series of posts on Twitter, the developer announced that Victoria Grace will be the voice of Yara while Ian Alexander voices Lev. Additionally, Emily Swallow will make a guest appearance to voice Emily with Laura Bailey to voice a yet unnamed character.
The game's trailer was revealed during Sony's PlayStation Media Showcase at Paris Games Week and gave fans a first look at the faces that will be featured in the game. However, many took notice of the extreme violence featured in the "The Last of Us 2" trailer which made some viewers very uncomfortable.
It's quite surprising how Naughty Dog managed to cram so much brutality in the five-minute clip. If the developer was looking for shock value it definitely did its job. Whether it was worth it is a different matter entirely.
The trailer featured two unnamed women being viciously assaulted. It's unclear why Naughty Dog opted to show this to its fans but with the current political climate, depictions of such violence against women would certainly have ramifications. And the fact that the person assaulting them is also a woman will do little to placate a wave of angry feminists who will see it as nothing more than a company using violence against women to sell a video game.
Unfortunately, this was only the trailer and it's very likely that similar scenes will be played out time and time again for the duration of the game. So for those who are into this kind of things or at least stomach some of it, the game will definitely be a wild ride.
Naughty Dog has yet to announce a release date for "The Last of Us 2."
