'The Legend of Tarzan' News: Margot Robbie Punches Alexander Skarsgard
The upcoming live adaptation of an animated classic, "The Legend of Tarzan," will soon present Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie as the iconic Disney characters.
It was previously announced that Alexander Skarsgard, best known for his role on "True Blood," will be bringing the character of Tarzan to life in the big screens. He will be seen swinging through the jungle as he encounters other humans who will alter his fate.
Tarzan's romantic interest, Jane Porter, will be portrayed by Margot Robbie. While the animated movie showed Jane as an innocent yet intelligent character, reports revealed that Robbie explored the wild side of Jane. The director of the movie, David Yates, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about how he directed Robbie during her intimate scene with Skarsgard.

He told her, "Just slap Alex while you're making love, just kind of give him a punch. It was sort of an earthy, sensual moment of her enjoying sex with Alex, and the only bruise he picked up during the entire shoot was probably that punch from Margot."
In addition, Yates also stated that Robbie's portrayal of Jane will be a representation of a strong woman. He added, "It was very important that we didn't want it to feel archaic or dated, where it's like, tough guy has to save the poor girl. You have to feel that she's strong and independent, and when you cast Margot, you'll definitely get that."
As for the plot of the movie, it was reported that it is going to explore some dark themes, giving it a serious tone compared to the animated movie. It was stated that the movie will depict Tarzan as a myth or a legend, instead of a childhood figure. Alongside Skarsgard and Robbie, other actors who will be taking part in "The Legend of Tarzan" include Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou, John Hurt, Jim Broadbent, and Christoph Waltz.
