'The Strain' Season 3 Episode 2 Recap and Spoilers: Eph to Decide for His Son's Safety

The premiere episode of the third season of "The Strain" had Eph's (Corey Stoll) son abducted. In the next episode, The Master makes a bargain to return Zach (Max Charles) in exchange for the Lumen. This puts Eph in a very difficult position to decide.

Eph to save his son

It seems that Eph will make a major decision in his life. That is because The Master had asked the Lumen in exchange for his son. If Eph decides to return the book, it will mean that the human race will end. The dilemma, which left Eph confused, made him decide to tell the truth to the professor he stole the book from.

Eph goes on looking for Professor Setrakain (David Bradley) and ended up coming across Quinlan (Rupert Penley-Jones). The meeting had been awkward since Quinlan had made it a point to protect the professor's hiding place. Fortunately, Fet (Kevin Durand) was there and told Quinlan that Eph was a friend. The truth was revealed and that was when Eph proved that he was a friend and not a foe.

It seems that with Eph considering The Master's deal, he now is desperate to take it. Eph needs to steal the book, which is difficult, as it is closely guarded from the Master's destruction. The challenge is how to get it. It entails losing his son if the book is not handed over to The Master.

Dutch reunites with old friends

Meanwhile, Dutch Velders (Ruta Gedmintas) will reunite with a group of friends. This will place her in a position where she questions whether she is safer with the group or with Eph, Fet, and Setrakain.

Looks like the episode will have more of decision makings from the characters. The Master is desperate to get the Lumen from Eph. Eph, on the other hand, needs to act quickly if he wants his back.

The city is filled with these monsters and almost everyone is involved in fighting the enemies. The Master is manipulating more than one person. In the end Eph, did steal the book and is left to decide on what needs to be done. Quinlan saw that Eph stole the book and decided that all of them could kill the Master. However, it seems that Zach is not at all safe, since the Master dripped something inside his mouth.

What might happen to Eph's son? How bad could the situation be? Will all of them be able to destroy The Master and keep the city safe? All these are a possibility and yet again, no one knows what The Master can do next.
