'The Vampire Diaries' Season 5 Spoilers: 'How Much Damage Can Katherine Do'?

The CW hit series "The Vampire Diaries" packed a lot of drama into last night's all new episode. For those who are eager to hear what happens next, check out spoilers from the show's executive producer Julie Plec below.

Julie Plec sat down for an interview with TV Guide recently where she discussed Damon and his current obstacles.

"He ends this episode with a very clear goal, which is I'm going to get my girl back, but unfortunately his girl has been hijacked. So that's going to be an interesting development for him as he works hard to get the relationship back on track. There is also this beautiful new addition in our world in the form of Enzo so the good thing is that whatever Damon is going through he's not alone. He can't shake Enzo whether he wants to or not," she said.

She went on to describe in more detail what will happen with Damon and his brother Stefan.

"The show is driven by the power of the relationship between those brothers; it's the meat and potatoes of the show. At the end of the day these two brothers have fought and hated each other and have come back to each other over and over again and it's the most powerful element of the show so there will always be that connection. But [right now] clingy, manipulative and wonderful Enzo might get in the way of that," Plec said.

The executive producer went on to tease what the rest of the season will be like, saying that Katherine will be a major focus.

"The next chapter is how much damage can Katherine do and what are the repercussions of the events of Episode 100? Then past that towards the end, we'll start to understand how the doppelganger prophecy as believed by the Travellers [works], what it means for the remaining doppelgangers and we'll be unraveling the mysteries of the Travellers and how it's going to impact our heroes and the rest of Mystic Falls," she told TV Guide.
