'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 Finale Spoilers: Will Elena Rise from Deep Slumber? Is it the End for Bonnie?
Rumors say that fans will finally see Elena Gilber (Nina Dobrev) return to the hit show.
Longtime followers of The CW's hit supernatural drama TV series "The Vampire Diaries" have been wishing for Nina Dobrev's comeback as the fan-favorite character, Elena Gilbert. In this week's airing of the show, which is actually its Season 7 finale, viewers might finally get to see the former main protagonist rise from her deep slumber as Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) fights to save the life of their friend, Bonnie (Kat Graham).
In the promo video released by the network for the upcoming season-ender titled "Gods & Monsters," Damon and Stefan (Paul Wesley) can be seen brewing up their plans to put an end on Bonnie's hunter's curse. The clip sees them getting inside the vault. However, it seems like there are quite some unexpected things waiting for them down there.
"Elena!" Damon can be heard whispering on the phone as he appears to be utterly surprised. Speculations, however, pointed out that the Armory is infamous for bringing out all sorts of things, both horrible and fantastic. It remains to be seen if it's really his senses telling him that what he's seeing is Elena or if the Armory is just playing tricks on his mind.

If Dobrev's character indeed shows up in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 finale, it is highly likely that viewers will only get to see a quick glimpse of her. Perhaps, fans will get to see more of her in the upcoming Season 8.
A person who happens to be close with the actress earlier told Hollywoodlife that Dobrev is "10,000 percent" down to reprise her role. The CW or any of the show's series executives still haven't confirmed this piece of news, however. For the meantime, Spoiler TV released the full synopsis for the Season 7 finale and it reads:
"Despite their best efforts to help Bonnie (Kat Graham) through the harrowing predicament she now faces, Damon, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) and Caroline (Candice King) realize their options are running out and drastic measures need to be taken. With their only chance of saving their friend lying inside the Armory, Stefan breaks the news to Caroline that they may need help from an unlikely source – her and Alaric's twin daughters. Elsewhere, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) keeps Bonnie preoccupied by bringing her back to their cabin but when his plan takes an unexpected turn, it'll be up to Damon to make the ultimate sacrifice to save his closest friends."
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 finale premieres this Friday, May 13 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
