'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 Spoilers: Crossover with 'The Originals'

Fans of "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" will be happy to hear that the two series will be having a crossover event this season.

It was recently announced that the two series will be crossing over in an upcoming episode. The CW President Mark Pedowitz announced the news during the Television Critics Association press tour last week.

With that, it was revealed that Stefan, played by Paul Wesley, will run into Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan when he reaches New Orleans. According to Variety, the creator of the two series, Julie Plec, described the plot for the crossover.

She stated, "Stefan will go to New Orleans in a Vampire Diaries episode and then he will remain in New Orleans in The Originals to help Klaus deal with a problem that is super specific to Stefan's survival."

When asked if this means that Caroline and Klaus will have a romantic moment in the episode to come, Plec explained that there will be something between them but stated that she could not elaborate any further.

Meanwhile, she did express her excitement for the upcoming crossover since it felt like the right moment to do so. She said, "So we're sitting in the room, and I was like, St. James Infirmary! There's a place where there's no magic that can work in New Orleans!' And the whole writer's room just went, 'Yay! Finally!' because they've been waiting so long for that opportunity."

It seems as though the crossover between "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" will present a spectacle since it has been highly anticipated not just by the fans but even by the writers as well. With that, fans will have to wait until Jan. 29 to see more about what the two series will unfold to make way for the crossover.
