'The Walking Dead' Season 6 News: 'TWD' Creator Robert Kirkman Teases More Character Death
As AMC and the cast of its popular zombie apocalypse series "The Walking Dead" have continuously teased over the last few months, the second half of TWD's Season 6 will be an absolute bloodbath. With the impending arrival of the much-anticipated villain Negan, and the rumored death of a major player, diehard fans of the series are fearing the worst.
But, as TWD creator Robert Kirkman said in an upcoming episode of "Inside the Actor's Studio," people have to die.
"Like I always said, 'People gotsta die,'" Kirkman told host James Lipton. "You never want to lose that."

As the "Walking Dead" comic book series creator and TWD executive producer explained, as quoted by ComicBook,com, "If you go too long a period with characters surviving and being safe you lose that element of 'Oh my god, these characters could go at any moment.'"
Kirkman compared the process of killing off a TWD character to putting an end to a character in the comic book series, but said that "it doesn't have that added element that the TV show has where these are our friends that we see everyday."
As fans of "The Walking Dead" know, two major characters that have been in the series since Season 1 may be on the chopping block in the second half of Season 6. Glenn (Steven Yeun), who escaped death in the first half of Season 6, is expected to be killed by Negan, as the villainous character does in the comics.
But that's if the TWD producers stick to the comic book version of events.
Should Glenn continue his lucky streak and somehow evade Negan's baseball bat, it may be Daryl (Norman Reedus) who bites it in the finale. As viewers have observed, Daryl's sinister phase is long overdue. And, as showrunner Scott Gimple told TV Insider last month, "He's very scary in this back half."
Will Daryl's "very scary" antics get him killed? It may be so, because as Gimple told Entertainment Weekly last year, there will be "some hard left turns from the comic story" when Season 6 resumes.
"The Walking Dead" returns with the second half of its sixth season on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 9 p.m. on AMC.
