'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Spoilers, Plot Details & Updates: Return of AMC's Zombie Hit Will Be Truly Devastating as Expected, Ross Marquand Confirms; Rick Grimes Could Be The One To End Negan's Run

Spoilers are thin to the ground for AMC's hit 'The Walking Dead' ended on a fist-clenching cliffhanger--in the season's finale, Negan (aka the show's worst antagonist next to, well, zombies) appeared to have bludgeoned to death a major character, but fans are left wondering as to who was at the receiving end of his barbed-wire bat, Lucille.

With fans up to their toes, Ross Marquand, the celebrity impressionist who plays Ross Marquand in the AMC hit series, confirmed everyone's worst fears--Season 7's premiere will be "devastating": Negan had axed a character that the cast--and the viewers--cared about a lot.

This follows what Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) already teased in a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, saying that the death will affect the group significantly as Negan's debut has completely shaken up "everything," while series creator Robert Kirkman had already said the character was "beloved to everyone."

Spoiler alert: for those who haven't yet read the eponymous comics with which the series was based--and if the TV show followed its source material to a T--then it's likely Glenn's death that we'll be left to deal with.

Marquand also talked about the expansion of the series as the cast will see the beginnings of rebuilding a society. The group is expecting to meet with other survivor communities and outposts apart from the Hilltop Colony, Sanctuary, and the Kingdom.

"All of a sudden you're getting choices on where you're gonna live, who you'll do business with," Marquand exclaimed.

And choices aren't something the group always has, which makes this a pleasant change for everyone. Marquand said the group is going to realize that there are actually a lot of survivors in the world.

What does the Season 7 trailer shows?

Speaking of The Kingdom, looks like our raglan group is officially headed to their community, as shown in the Season 7 trailer. They are headed by "King Ezekiel," who is played by Khary Payton (Teen Titans), alongside his pet tiger, Shiva.

The enigmatic leader will eventually become Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln)'s ally in the All Out War, a comic book arc that sees multiple survivor communities teaming up to defeat the madman Negan.

Before these exciting changes for our zombie-plagued team, however, a death will still be on their shoulders--and with the way cast members are talking about the season premiere, looks like it's bound to be just as devastating as it promises to be.
