'The X-Files' Revival Spoilers: Mulder Confronts Skinner, Major Character May Die In Revival Premiere
It has been almost 14 years since "The X-Files" last aired on Fox and now, fans need wait only twenty more days before FBI Special Agents Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) and Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) reprise their roles in the "X-Files" revival miniseries.
And though viewers may think that the "X-Files" reboot has been sufficiently teased, with Fox releasing a 21-minute feature complete with behind-the-scenes looks and interviews with the show's cast and crew in December, a new three-minute video with scenes from upcoming episodes has also just dropped, revealing some major details about the forthcoming "X-Files" miniseries.
In one of the scenes from the short clip, Mulder faces off with FBI assistant director Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi), saying, "You owe me some answers, Skinner." Trying to neutralize the situation, Skinner warns Mulder to calm down. In another shot, Mulder says, "For all the time I was being led by my nose through a dark alley to a dead end, exactly as they planned."

The video also reveals Scully and Mulder talking about their son, William, who was abandoned by his parents at the end of the last season. "As parents, we made a difficult sacrifice to keep him safe," Scully says.
In another scene from the forthcoming revival episodes, Scully is shown breaking down in what appears to be a hospital. As "The X-Files" fans know, Scully is a character who likes to keep her emotions in check. If Scully is breaking down in tears, something truly devastating must have happened. And because the scene occurs in what may be the hallway of a hospital - maybe a morgue? - it can only be assumed that someone important to Scully may have passed away.
Speaking of spoilers, "The X-Files" creator Chris Carter recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about releasing the revival miniseries in an era of spoiler-obsessed viewers, saying, "There's actually a new position called set security." "That's the person to make sure everyone has a badge and watches out for us," he said, in an interview in which he talks about dealing with paparazzi on "The X-Files" shoots.
"As far as I'm concerned, this episode, everyone's seen it now because everyone will be online talking about it," Carter said of the revival debut.
"The X-Files" revival event returns with a two-night debut beginning Sunday, Jan. 24, on Fox.
