'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers and Cast News: Who Will Replace Michael Muhney?
Michael Muhney's character Adam Newman was killed off of CBS' "The Young and the Restless" in January, but the character will be making a return, according to insiders this week.
Spoilers about the longrunning daytime soap opera previously revealed that Muhney was fired from "Y&R" following sexual harassment allegations, and his last episode aired Jan. 30. Ever since, fans have been anxiously awaiting hints at what will come of his character, Adam.
According to reports this week, Adam is not dead, and is making his way back home to Genoa City on "Y&R," reported Celebrity Dirty Laundry. The drama is said to begin laying the groundwork for Adam to return, and that showrunners are currently searching for the perfect actor to fill the role.
In an episode set to air on March 28, Chelsea receives a phone call where she asks, "Is that you, Adam?" The spoiler is convincing many "Y&R" fans to believe that Adam will in fact return.
Furthermore, several other reports seem to confirm Adam's return, including a source at Radar Online that revealed "Y&R" producers are searching for the "best actor" who the "audience will grow to love" since Adam will become "central to the show."
Meanwhile, Muhney's abrupt exit from "Y&R" set producers back on the show, and they are seeking a very specific replacement actor in an attempt to avoid a dramatic firing from happening again.
"If there is even a hint of diva behavior, or drama, the role won't go to that person. Period," an insider at Radar Online revealed. "Everyone wants to move on from that disaster."
Meanwhile, "Y&R" just added David Tom to the cast. The actor will replace Billy Miller in the role of Billy Abbott on the show, even though he previously portrayed Abbott from 1992 to 2002.
"It feels totally comfortable and I'm smiling from ear to ear," Tom said of returning to the drama. "It's so great to be back."
"The Young and the Restless" airs on CBS on weekdays at 1 p.m. EST.
