Thierry Henry Latest News 2014: No Longer Playing for NY Red Bulls, No Future MLS Plans?
MLS French striker Thierry Henry has confirmed that he will not be returning to the Red Bulls in 2015. This comes to no surprise as the announcement has been expected for months as his contract is expiring this season and has hinted no intentions to return to the league. However, it did not mention anything about retiring as a player.
Over at his Facebook page, Henry had thanked the team and his fans for their support over his four and a half years with the club.
"I am taking this opportunity to announce that unfortunately Saturday was my last game for the New York Red Bulls. The decision has always been that I would leave after the duration of my contract and although that was never going to change, I didn't want it to distract from the progress of the team," he wrote.

"I will now take the next few weeks to reflect and decide on the next chapter of my career," he added.
Henry had first joined the Red Bulls midway through the 2010, after his career with Arsenal and Barcelona mostly throughout the 2000s. In his four and a half year career with the team, he had made 122 appearances, 51 goals, and 42 assists. Over the four seasons, he kept a consistent 10-plus goals.
"Thierry Henry, an icon of the world's game, has been a wonderful player for the New York Red Bulls and a major influence on the development of MLS," said Andy Roxburgh, the New York Red Bulls' Sporting Director.
"It has been a privilege to have watched Thierry's illustrious career unfold since he was 17 years old, and it has been a particular joy to watch him, at close quarters, lead the New York Red Bulls."
There are still no reports about Henry's plans for the future but there are rumors that he will be moving back to Arsenal at some point. Still, no doubt he leaves the Red Bulls as a club legend and one of the greatest players in the MLS' history.
