'Thor: Ragnarok' Reviews: Post-Credits Scenes Analysis
"Thor: Ragnarok" is finally out and once again hardcore Marvel fans are already digging boatloads of information regarding future films. The post-credits scenes, in particular, are a great source of spoilers for those who stuck with the film till the very end.
Like Spiderman: Homecoming, the film treats fans to two post-credits scenes one having a serious tone while the other being overtly funny. For those who have yet to see the film, WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD.
First off is the serious post-credit scene which obviously points to "Avengers: Infinity War." The scene shows Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), the Revengers, the refugees from Sakaar, and the remains of the Asgardian as they search the cosmos for a new home.
Suddenly, they encounter a large ship similar to those used by the Chitauri which means it probably belongs to Thanos (Josh Brolin). The ship is likely headed to Earth given that Thanos already expressed his plans to accomplish what his underlings failed to do.
Being the one who witnessed the ship, it's very likely that Thor will be the one to warn the Avengers of the impending attack. As for Loki, there is a chance that he will join the fight given that he isn't exactly on Thanos' good side having failed to conquer the Earth and even losing the Mind Stone.
As for the funny "Thor: Ragnarok" post-credit scene, it's not so much as a spoiler but rather an extension of the film's conclusion. The scene shows The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) and a couple members of his harem crash land on Sakaar. Goldblum doing what Goldblum does best, hems and haws to the crowd, declaring that the uprising was good. He adds that couldn't have been done without him because you need someone to rise against and that they should call the whole thing a tie.
It's definitely the perfect way to end "Thor: Ragnarok" given that the filmmakers opted for a more comedic approach in contrast to the first two films. Sadly though, it doesn't offer much in terms of what to expect future Marvel films.
