Tony Stewart Crash Video: Kevin Ward Jr Hit, Killed By Tony Stewart's Car in Horror NASCAR Crash

Multi-winning NASCAR champion Tony Stewart hit and killed sprint car driver Kevin Ward Jr. on Saturday night in a tragic accident at Canandaigua Motor Sports Park in upstate New York. Just moments prior to the tragic accident Ward had crashed out and was seen running back towards the other cars, seemingly looking to confront Stewart about their collision a lap earlier.

The two racers had been competing for position and were alongside each other when Stewart seemed to squeeze Ward out. Stewart's car had a slight collision with Ward's car and send the latter crashing out of the race onto the dirt track.

A seemingly infuriated Ward then can be seen getting out of his car and walking back towards the track and speeding cars to confront Stewart as he comes around for another lap.

However, the dark area of the dirt track and the speed of the cars seems to have contributed to the accident as Stewart's car can be seen ploughing into Ward, sending him flying to the ground. He can then be seen motionless on the side of the track afterwards in what can only be described as a tragic accident.

Authorities questioned Stewart in the aftermath of the incident, but it is highly unlikely that any criminal charges will be filed against him.

Ontario County Sheriff Philip Povero has said that Stewart was "visibly shaken," according to AP. Authorities have also asked that any spectators hand in any video footage of the crash to help them in their investigations.

Povero said, "This is right now being investigated as an on-track crash and I don't want to infer that there are criminal charges pending. When the investigation is completed, we will sit down with the district attorney and review it. But I want to make it very clear: there are no criminal charges pending at this time."

NASCAR has said it would not prevent Stewart from racing Sunday, but in an announcement on Sunday morning his team has said that he would not be racing Sunday.

Video footage of the incident shows Ward seemingly moving towards the track to confront Stewart, who is a three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion.

A spokesman for Stewart's racing team said, "Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. We're still attempting to sort through all the details."

Video footage of the crash can be seen below. Viewers are advised that the video is graphic and may shock:
