There's a reason why metahumor exists--it's because of this series. Widely considered to be the funniest sitcom in its heyday, it continues to be the most influential, too. Think Community and Better Off Ted, which thrive in meta and trope humor.
If you're not a fan of cartoons, well, Bob's Burgers is going to cure that aversion. Known for its adult humor, popular catchphrases, and wildly addicting musical numbers, the Belcher animated family is easily at par with its live-action counterparts in this list.

There's probably not going to be any list of best TV series in the world without Friends in the running. Can it be any more legendary? I think not. It's the show that brought us the generation's best catchphrases, like How you doin'?, We were on a break!, and, of course, unagi.
Dragons, kings, queens, naked bodies, fire, White Walkers. There is no possible way to sum up how epic this series is. No wonder everyone's obsessed with the show. It's got the most overthinking fans, too. Who else comes up with that many conspiracy theories?
Finally, a female superheroine! If you love the noir genre, then this show just might be for you, too. Intense and action-packed, there's just never a safe moment in the show.

If you watch this series, then you're in good company: President Barack Obama said it's one of his favorite shows. This award-winning mockumentary series is incredibly funny, and it owes its charm to its stellar cast.
There has never been a cyberhacker series with the same beautiful and well-executed cinematography than Mr. Robot. With its dark storyline, ambiguous characters, and claustrophobic sequences, you're just bound to watch more, eager to figure out what's going on.
A mockumentary series about charming local governments that try to contain the federal-level enthusiasm for public service of Leslie Knope, played by the beautiful Amy Poehler. It's House of Cards in super funny mode. Oh, and it's also Obama's favorite.
Look, the series gets rough after John Dorian (played by Zach Braff) left the show, but Scrubs remains one of the most memorable and funniest doctor dramas out there. J.D. and Turk were the best bromance of all time. It's also got one of the best soundtracks ever made. Yes, better than How I Met Your Mother.
Stranger Things captured the internet by storm, with its iconic '80s homages, its thrilling storyline, and just about the most adorable set of kids in the whole world. When one of their friends gets trapped into another dimension, they meet this strange girl, El, with telekinetic powers, and embark on an exciting adventure that shows just how mature kids can be.
It's Scrubs all over again, because Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell) leaves the show after Season 7, so it's just never the same. Nevertheless, The Office magnifies boring old office antics and drama into hilarious levels, making it one of the best shows of all time. That's what she said.
